The RFoF-12GHz-LN-HSFDR-L Series from RFOptic are RF-over-Fiber (RFoF) Transceivers that operate from 100 MHz to 12 GHz. They are designed to provide low noise for improved noise figure performance and high spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) to simplify signal conditioning requirements. These transceivers consist of a Tx unit, which converts wideband RF signals into an optical signal, and an Rx unit, which converts the optical signal into an RF signal. The RF chain provides a gain of -17 dB with a noise figure of 23 dB and has an SFDR of up to 114 dB/Hz, while the optical chain has an optical wavelength of 1.55 µm (laser diode) and 1.5-1.58 µm (Receiver photodiode).
The HSFDR 12 GHz Series, owing to their improved noise figure, eliminates the need for an additional pre-amplifier. These transceivers allow users to customize RF gain, output P1dB, and noise figure parameters by adding internal pre- and post-amplifiers. These RFoF transceivers require a DC supply of 5 V and consume 2.5 W (Tx) and 0.5 W (Rx) of power. They are available in modules that measure 75 x 154 x 33 mm and have SMA connectors for RF ports and FC/APC connectors for optical ports. These transceivers are ideal for EW, distributed antenna, radio telescopes, telecommunication, and SATCOM applications.
