The RFoF-6GHz from RFOptic is an RF Over Fiber 5G - DAS extension system that operates from 0.5 to 6000 MHz. It has been developed to overcome the loss caused by coaxial infrastructure in terms of EVM and ACLR over a wide range of signal levels over long distances. The 5G system consists of an outdoor enclosure which is situated on the roof close to the antenna and an indoor unit connected by optical fibers. This RFoF module is ideal for use in 5G test sites and distributed antenna systems (DAS) applications.
The RFOF Module has an integrated low-noise amplifier that provides an adjustable link gain of 27 dB (0.5 dB step size) with a noise figure of 6 dB when the LNA is turned ON. It has a laser diode with wavelengths of 1.31 or 1.55 µm and provides an optical power of 2.5 mW in the fiber. The module has bi-directional loop gain isolation of 18 dB and has an SFDR of 100 dB/Hz.
The RFoF-6GHz can be monitored and controlled remotely through HTML/REST/SNMP or a USB interface and includes end-to-end build-in diagnostic reducing installation and maintenance time. It has SMA-female RF connectors and FC/APC or SC/APC optical connectors. This RFoF module is suitable for use in 5G test sites and distributed antenna systems (DAS) applications. The module requires an AC supply.
