The LB5944A from LadyBug Technologies is a True-RMS Power Sensor that operates from 1 MHz to 44 GHz for general-purpose average power or True RMS and scalar measurements. The sensor has an exceptionally fast measurement speed, a broad dynamic range (-60 dBm to +26 dBm), and a wide set of options for programmatic and embedded applications in the industry. It is recommended for average power measurements on signals with any modulation type including 802.11ac, GSM, CDMA 2000, CDMA (IS-95), TDMA, Multi-Tone, OFDM, CW, QAM, and more. The unit can handle a maximum average power of up to 400 mW and 2 W peak power. This sensor makes accurate measurements on any signal regardless of its modulation bandwidth.
The sensor can also be set up for UOP (Unattended Operation) where data can be collected through the sensors and transmitted to a computer via USB or SPI/I2C ports. Once the measurements are set up, a computer or power meter is not required to operate the sensor making it ideal for unattended applications. The sensor utilizes a highly accurate, thermally stabilized, two-path, RMS responding, square law diode detection scheme. LadyBug PMA-12 Power Meter software and a high-accuracy real-time clock are also included with this sensor. It requires a DC supply voltage of 16 V (on the RF input).
The LB5944A is available in a module with a 2.4 mm male connector and is useful in research & development, manufacturing & service applications including radar, satellite, and telecommunications. This sensor features SPI, SPI & I2C interfaces for embedded applications, microprocessors, and FPGA.
