The R&S VSE from Rohde & Schwarz is a Vector Signal Explorer Software for Signal and Spectrum Analyzers as well as oscilloscopes. It allows users to analyze and solve problems in analog and digitally modulated signals for a wide range of standards. This software easily works with recorded data or simulations, saving valuable time and when large amounts of data need to be analyzed, users can remotely control with R&S FSW signal and spectrum analyzers. It measures all relevant parameters such as pulse duration, pulse period, and pulse rise/fall times and creates trend analysis over many pulses. This signal analysis software uses transient analysis to measure the phase noise of chirps and hops in radar systems.

The R&S VSE software supports Bluetooth signal analysis capabilities such as basic rate, enhanced data rate, output power, RF envelope, and bit error rate. It can be used to characterize 2-port devices such as power amplifiers and converters and can conduct real-world simulations of these devices. This software supports simultaneous signal capture of up to 4 channels of a high-end R&S RTO and R&S RTP oscilloscope and compares pulse parameters with statistics over multiple channels. It adds analog modulation schemes such as AM, FM, and PM and measures parameters such as residual FM.

This software also supports demodulation (user-configurable) of general OFDM signals, 3GPP LTE, and LTE-Advanced in-band measurements by analyzing sub-frames and cell identities, LTE narrowband IoT analysis, 5G NR, and ultra-wideband (UWB) signals, providing a wide range of analysis options and a full overview of signal quality.
