The Field Master™ MS2080A from Anritsu is a Handheld RF Spectrum Analyzer that operates from 9 kHz to 4 / 6 GHz. It has an integrated spectrum analyzer, an optional real-time spectrum analyzer (RTSA), a cable and antenna analyzer, and an LTE/5G base station tester. This analyzer has a full span sweep speed of 45 GHz/s, a DANL of -160 dBm DANL, and a phase noise of -95 dBc/Hz @ 100 kHz offset (1 GHz frequency). It includes an input power protection for up to 5 W to protect the instrument’s front-end when used close to high-power transmitters or in a high signal level environment. The analyzer is suitable for use in interference hunting and 5G/LTE base station installation and maintenance (I&M) applications.
The optional RTSA has a bandwidth of 40 MHz with a probability of intercept (POI) of 2.5 µs which makes it well-suited for capturing intermittent and digitally modulated signals that can be hard to identify. Spectrograms allow irregular and drifting signals to be captured, recorded, and displayed. The MS2080A features a large 10-inch, high-resolution multi-touch screen display for results and instrument settings. It can be controlled via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and USB 3.0 interfaces.
The MS2080A is battery operated with 3 hours of battery life with an internal power pack and up to 6 hours of battery life with the accessory battery pack. It is available in an enclosure that measures 290 x 212 x 96 mm and weighs 3.8 Kg. This analyzer comes with an IP52-rated soft case to protect from dust and rain while the screen exceeds the IK08 specification protecting against knocks and drops.
