The HBFlex from PCTEL is a highly flexible scanner designed for testing LTE, 2G/3G cellular, 5G NR sub-6 GHz (FR1) and mmWave (FR2) bands. It can be used to test the Sub-6 GHz band from 10 MHz to 6 GHz, mmWave bands n257 (26.5-29.5 GHz), n258 (24.25-27.5 GHz), n260 (37-40 GHz) and n261 (27.5-28.35 GHz). The spectrum receiver features Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS) and simultaneous mmWave and sub-6 GHz measurements to help operators efficiently utilize all their spectrum and make a smooth transition to 5G.
The HBFlex supports dual polarization beamforming measurements which provides optimal 5G coverage, while reducing power consumption. It can be connected to a specially designed horizontally polarized antenna and has new signal processing techniques that enable the receiver to capture dual polarized signals in a manner like a mobile phone. This scanner also supports 2x2 and 4x2 LTE MIMO measurement and can also perform a blind scan for automatic channel detection.
The scanner has USB 2.0, Ethernet, and Bluetooth interfaces for host data communications. It is available in an enclosure that measures 255.3 x 165.1 x 111.5 mm with SMA-female, SMB and 2.92mm-female antenna ports. The scanner requires a DC supply from 9 to 17 V and can handle an input power of up to 25 W.
The HBFlex can be used to test 5G NR, LTE FDD, TD-LTE, NB-IoT, UMTS, GSM, CDMA, EV-DO, Wi-Fi, LAA, P25, DMR and TETRA technology standards.
