The R&S FSW50 from Rohde & Schwarz is a Signal and Spectrum Analyzer with a frequency range from 2 Hz to 50 GHz. It has been designed for demanding mission-critical, military, and defense environments. This analyzer has a wide internal bandwidth, which helps it to characterize wideband components and communication systems. It has a frequency resolution of 0.01 Hz and an SSB phase noise of less than -134 dBc/Hz (at 10 kHz offset). This spectrum analyzer has an internal analysis bandwidth of up to 8.3 GHz, that allows it to capture the entire bandwidth of the downlink signal and evaluate the complete system. It offers dedicated measurement applications for the most critical measurements such as group delay, linearity, gain transfer, and noise power ratio (NPR).
The R&S FSW50 can demodulate satellite RF signals of several standards such as DVB-S2X and OneWeb. It can reliability detect extremely short sporadic interference in the nanosecond range even in close proximity to powerful carriers – in a bandwidth of up to 800 MHz. This spectrum analyzer enables users to analyze existing frequency hopping algorithms and create alternative ones to prevent collisions between signals of different standards operating in the same frequency band. It can be used to conduct various measurements and simultaneously display them in separate windows, which simplifies the result interpretation process.
The R&S FSW50 includes an embedded SCPI recorder to simplify code generation for automatic, remote-controlled measurements. It has an integrated 12.1 inches high-resolution, multi-touch display with gesture support, resulting in a flat design with an experience similar to Windows 10. This spectrum analyzer is available in a rack-mount enclosure that measures 462 x 240 x 504 mm with 1.85 mm (male) connectors. It requires an AC supply of 100-240 V and consumes 200 W of power.
