The C/TT-510 from L3Harris Technologies is a UHF Command and Control Transceiver with a Tx frequency from 390 to 405 MHz and an Rx frequency from 435 to 450 MHz. It is suitable for use in missions and critical scenarios where data links are required between two spacecraft. This radiation-tolerant transceiver can be configured for full-duplex or half-duplex operations and supports BPSK/QPSK modulations. The full-duplex option with coherent transponding offers navigation capabilities like two-way Doppler ranging as well as the capability to be upgraded with future ranging algorithms. In Tx mode, this transceiver provides an output power of more than 8.5 W (half-duplex) while in Rx mode, it has a noise figure of less than 4 dB. It is embedded with LVDS data and a clock for synchronization.
The C/TT-510 incorporates Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems Proximity-1 protocol to provide error-free communication by employing an error detection and re-transmission service. Additionally, the Proximity-1 Protocol provides an automatic link establishment feature that allows the primary transceiver to reconfigure the secondary transceiver with no intervention from the secondary spacecraft. It requires a DC supply from 22 to 36 V, consumes 65 W of power (full-duplex mode), and 15 W of power in stand-by mode. This transceiver is available in a housing that measures 6.35 x 8.00 x 4.11 inches with military standard environmental compliance and is ideal for use in lander missions with stringent mass and energy constraints.
