The TMC178165 from mmTron is an IF-to-Antenna Transceiver with an IF frequency from 5 to 7 GHz and an RF frequency from 25 to 29 GHz. It supports channel bandwidth up to 400 MHz and the 2048-QAM modulation scheme. This transceiver has an EIRP of +57 dBi and combines high power (EIRP) and high linearity to enable high data rates for broadband internet access. It supports full-duplex TDD operation, as the architecture has switches on both the antenna and mixer sides, which are controlled with standard control signals. The transceiver has a LO frequency range of 6 to 8 GHz and an input drive of 0 dBm. In the Tx chain, it delivers an output power of 29 dBm and provides a gain (from IF to antenna port) of 25 dB while in the Rx chain, it provides a gain (from antenna port to IF) of 25 dB with a noise figure of 3.5 dB.
The TMC178165 requires DC supplies of 3 V and 6 V. It is available in a 20-pin QFN package that measures 5 x 5 mm and is ideal for mmWave fixed wireless access (FWA) applications.
