The SPARK SR1010 is a Bi-Directional Short Latency Wireless Transceiver IC that operates in the license-free UWB band from 3.1 to 6 GHz, enabling efficient and robust wireless communications. This UWB transceiver achieves 40x better energy efficiency, 60x lower latency, and 10x more data throughput as compared to BLE. Its raw data rate can be continuously scaled from 1 kbps to 10 Mbps, enabling high throughput applications such as audio/video. The versatile device delivers 10 dBm of peak Tx power and can send 1 Kbps of data in 50 microseconds, yielding significantly shorter wireless latency in a wide range of applications, such as audio streaming. This transceiver consumes 1.5 nJ/ bit of energy efficiency at up to 10 Mbps.
The Spark SR1010 Radio allows for the dynamic shaping of its output spectrum to comply with international UWB emission limits. The receiver is designed to reject narrow-band signals, such as WiFi or BLE, and the very low transmitted emission levels that are inherently difficult to intercept, enhancing wireless security. The device requires a 1.8 to 3.6 V supply and is available in a 28-pin 4 x 4 mm QFN package with SPI interface and is suitable for a variety of ranging and positioning applications in addition to provisioning a low emission, low power, and low latency symmetrical data link.
The Spark SR1020 is another UWB transceiver from the same series that operates from 3.1 to 6 GHz.
