The ST60A2G0 from STMicroelectronics is an mm-Wave Transceiver that operates in the 60 GHz V-Band. This transceiver can be used to power high data-rate wireless link enabling freedom from physical cables and connectors for short-range (a few cm) point-to-point communications, using a variety of external antennas (such as patch antennas designed on PCB or highly directive SMT horn antennas allowing both end-fire and broadside radiation patterns).
The transceiver supports a data rate of up to 6.25 Gbits/s and operates in half-duplex mode. It requires a DC supply of 1.8 V in single supply mode and 1.8 V/1.45 V in dual supply mode. The module consumes 44 mW of power in Tx mode, 27 mW of power in Rx mode and 3.5 μW of power in OFF mode.
The ST60A2G0 can be controlled via a Differential SLVS input-output port (NRZ) or a 1.8 V bidirectional single-ended CMOS interface. This transceiver is available in a VFBGA package that measures 2.2 x 2.2 x 0.8 mm and is ideal for contactless connector solutions in personal electronics, peripheral, industrial and computer applications.
