The Lepton9 x4 (R9104C) from CAEN RFID is a 4-port RAIN RFID Reader Module designed for low-power, high-performance RAIN RFID applications. It operates from 865.600-867.600 MHz (ETSI) and 902-928 MHz (FCC), delivers an output power of up to 1 W, and can detect tags over a read range of more than 5 m (depending on antenna and tag dimensions). This reader has low power consumption and can be easily integrated into battery-powered devices. It is based on the Impinj E910C chipset that enables fast reading speed and can be used in dense reader and tag environments for excellent performance. This module requires a DC supply from 3.2 to 5.25 V, and consumes less than 8 W of power in active mode and 80 mW in idle mode (ready to receive commands).
The Lepton9 x4 (R9104C) supports four channels (as per ETSI) and 50 hopping channels (as per FCC) and communicates with tags according to the EPC Class 1 Gen 2 protocol. It supports a UART serial interface with a baud rate of 921.6 Kbps. This reader includes multi-regional capabilities, which allows it to be integrated into devices that require compliance with different geographical regions. It facilitates the integration for those who prefer to use connectors instead of the automatic manufacturing required by the SMD form factor. This module is available in a surface-mount package that measures 60.0 x 42.0 x 8.1 mm and is ideal for voice-operated gloves, multi-regional label printers and applicators, point-of-sale readers, and handheld applications.
