The trID (Model R1210I) from CAEN RFID is a RAIN RFID Reader that has been designed for short-range reading applications. It operates from 865.6 – 867.600 MHz (ETSI) and 902 – 928 MHz (FCC), supports four channels (compliant to ETSI) and 50 hopping channels (compliant to FCC), and has an integrated near-field UHF antenna. This reader has a programmable output power from -12 dBm to 4 dBm with an antenna gain of -19.0 dBic and can read tags over a range of up to 15 cm. It has a slim form factor that allows it to be embedded in jewelry trays, be used on a desk for document tracking, and in the healthcare environment to track surgery or dental tools. The RFID reader is battery-operated and includes a rechargeable Li-ion 3.7 V (2100 mAh) with a battery life of 18 hours (under operation) and 30 days (standby).
The trID (Model R1210I) can operate either in wired mode using a USB 2.0 cable (type-C) or in wireless mode via the Bluetooth interface. It can connect to any Bluetooth-enabled host such as a PC, smartphone, a PDA, or a tablet for RAIN RFID readings. This device complies to the EPC Class 1 Gen 2 standard and enables integration into user devices requiring compliance with different geographical regions. It is compatible with Windows 8/10/CE/Mobile, Android, and iOS operating systems. This RAIN RFID reader also integrates a power button, battery status LED, and a bi-tonal buzzer to provide status indications. It is available in an IP30-rated module that measures 217 x 146 x 14 mm and is ideal for dental tools tracking, document tracking, customer engagement, RAIN RFID jewelry trays, and point-of-sale applications.
