The M780 from Impinj is a RAIN RFID Tag IC that provides high-performance and fast inventory for next-generation, universal RAIN RFID tags. It has been designed to help enterprises such as medical, food, and industrial manufacturing manage their product shelf life, reduce waste and comply with regulatory bodies. This RFID tag IC has a large memory bank with advanced features that enable reliable access, storage, and monitoring of item attribute data, which improves item visibility and consumer safety while reducing waste.
The M780 enables loss prevention and protects consumer privacy by utilizing the Impinj protected mode and includes an unkillable mode that prevents the tag from getting killed before it enters the protected mode. It utilizes Enhanced AutoTune Adaptive RF tuning to optimize performance according to the operating environment for improved readability. This tag features an Impinj-exclusive portfolio of Core3D antenna reference designs which enable omnidirectional reads to eliminate blind spots and improve accuracy. It supports GS1 tag encoding recommendations including EPC Tag Data Standard (TDS) v2.0.
It has an EPC memory of 496 bits, a user memory of 12 bits, and 96 bits of serialized TID with a 48-bit serial number. This RFID reader IC chip has a reader sensitivity of up to -23.5 dBm, a write sensitivity of less than -20.5 dBm, and connects a dipole antenna. It is ISO/IEC 18000-63:2015 and EPCglobal Gen2v2 compliant and provides unique patented features and technologies such as Impinj AutoTune, Enduro, FastID, Integra, Protected Mode, and TagFocus. The tag is available in a wafer-level package and is ideal for pharmaceutical, food, grocery, aviation, automotive, government, and other tagging applications.
