The M781 from Impinj is a RAIN RFID Tag Chip that provides high performance and fast inventory capability for next-generation, universal RAIN RFID tags. This RFID tag chip has a large memory bank and advanced features that enable reliable storage, access, and monitoring of item attribute data — increasing item visibility, reducing waste, and improving consumer safety. It has been designed to help enterprises – such as medical, food, and industrial manufacturing – manage product shelf life, reduce waste, and comply with regulations.
The M781 RFID Reader IC has an EPC memory pf 128 bits, a user memory of 512 bits and 96 bits of serialized TID with 48-bit serial number. The chip has a read sensitivity of -23.5 dBm and a write sensitivity of up to -20.5 dBm with a dipole antenna. It is ISO/IEC 18000-63:2015 and EPCglobal Gen2v2 compliant and has unique patented features and technologies such as Impinj AutoTune, Enduro, FastID, Integra, Protected Mode, and TagFocus.
The M781 is suitable to be used globally and provides increased sensitivity, improved readability, and advanced features compared to earlier generation Impinj Monza® tag chips. It is available as a die that measures 424.7 x 396.7 µm and can be attached to or embedded in nearly any item for applications that require larger EPC and/or User memory, such as pharmaceuticals, food and grocery, aviation, automotive, government, and others.
In addition, Impinj has developed a new Core3D Antenna reference design portfolio that enables omnidirectional reading for all Impinj M700 series chips, simplifying inlay and tag development and further improving system readability, accuracy, and reliability.
