The mRO-50 from Safran is a 10 MHz Low SWaP-C Miniaturized Rubidium Oscillator that has been designed to meet the latest commercial, military, and aerospace requirements where time stability and power consumption are critical. The clock design is based on the proven rubidium clock heritage at Safran and it has been adapted for low power (0.36 W @ 3.3V) and size.
The mRO-50 consists of a voltage-controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO) which is locked to a highly stable atomic transition in the ground state of the 85Rb isotope. It is available in a compact module that measures 50.8 x 50.8 x 19.5 mm and takes up 51 cc of volume (about one-third of the volume compared to standard rubidiums).
This Rubidium Oscillator can operate over a temperature from -10°C to 60°C (military version extended to -40°C to 75°C) and is also ideal for UAVs and underwater applications. It can also be used in telecom, navigation, broadcast, defence, and other battery powered instruments.
