The T9UI from Communications & Power Industries (CPI) is a Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier (TWTA) that operates in the Ku-Band from 13.75 to 14.50 GHz. It delivers a TWT output power of more than 1.250 kW and a flange CW output power of 1.1 kW with a gain of over 70 dB. This TWTA is 40% more efficient than other comparable GaN solid-state power amplifiers (SSPAs). It has harmonic levels of less than -60 dBc and a spectral regrowth of -30 dBc.
It complies with international safety standards EN-60215, electromagnetic compatibility 2014/30/EU, and harmonic standard EN-61000-3-2. This amplifier has built-in fault diagnostics with remote monitoring and control capabilities, and it can be managed via Ethernet and an integral web server. The T9UI is equipped with a state-of-the-art touch screen control/display offering both amplifier and/or system-level control capabilities such as fault logs, parameter trending, and scopescreen for monitoring performance. It includes a user-friendly microprocessor-controlled logic with integrated Ethernet, serial, SNMP, and USB interfaces for control. This TWTA also supports firmware/system configurations and log downloads via the USB port.
This amplifier requires an AC supply of 200-240 V/380 V/415 V and consumes 4.9 kVA of power. It is available in a rack-mount enclosure that measures 19.00 x 15.75 x 24.00 inches with N-type (female) input connectors and WR-75G waveguide output flanges. This TWTA is ideal for satellite uplink applications.
