The VZC6964 from Communications & Power Industries (CPI) is a Travelling Wave Tube Amplifier (TWTA) that operates in the C-band from 5.725 to 7.075 GHz. It provides a TWT output power of 400 W and a flange output power of more than 350 W with a gain of over 75 dB. This outdoor TWTA employs a high-efficiency, dual-depressed collector helix traveling wave tube and is designed for satellite uplink applications. It has a modular design with built-in fault diagnostics capability and clearly visible indicators for easy maintainability in the field. This TWTA has a user-friendly microprocessor-controlled logic with an optional external serial computer interface. Digital metering, PIN diode attenuation and optional integrated linearizer for improved intermodulation performance.
The VZC6964 meets the international safety standards EN-60215, electromagnetic compatibility 2014/30/EU and harmonic standard EN-61000-3-2 to satisfy worldwide requirements. It is available in a modular 3RU benchtop enclosure that measures 19.00 x 5.25 x 24.00 inches with an N-type (F) input connector and CPR-137G grooved output waveguide flange. This v is suitable for wideband, single- and multi-carrier satellite service and transportable and fixed earth station applications. It requires an AC supply and consumes 1.5 kVA of input power during operation.
