The Puma 300X from Comtech Xicom Technology is an X-Band GaN Solid-State Amplifier (SSPA)/Block Upconverter (BUC) with an output RF frequency from 7.9 to 8.4 GHz. It delivers a saturated output power of 300 W (54.8 dBm) and linear output power of more than 150 W with a small signal gain of 70 dB. This amplifier has a high-efficiency GaN solid-state design that enables high-power handling in the toughest environments. It has spurious levels of -60 dBc and phase noise of up to -103 dBc/Hz @ 1 MHz offset. The amplifier has an internal M&C system that enables control via Ethernet/serial RS232 and optional SNMP (v1/v3) interfaces.
The Puma 300X requires an AC supply of 90-246 V and consumes 875 W of power. It is available in a compact and rugged benchtop enclosure that measures 6.80 x 10.50 x 17 inches and is ideal for use in SATCOM uplink applications.
