The XTD-750KaL from ComTech are Antenna-Mount High Power Amplifiers that operate from 27 to 31 GHz. They deliver a CW output power of 325 W (~55.1 dBm) with a small signal gain of more than 70 dB. These amplifiers have spurious levels and harmonics of -60 dBc. They are designed to offer compactness, low-cost installation, and a long life. These power amplifiers deliver a high efficiency, which enables a smaller and lighter design with the ability to operate over a temperature range of up to +60°C. They include proprietary features to improve performance and life, including an automatic bias control system to extend traveling wave tube (TWT) life by maintaining constant beam current over time.
The XTD-750KaL also integrates a precise system for matching linearizer performance to a specific tube over a wide range of operating conditions, which in turn maximizes the usable linear power. They have serial Ethernet interfaces such as RS-232/422/485 for remote monitoring and control. The amplifiers are equipped with an internal 1:1 switch control that can drive an input and output switch to provide redundancy. They require a single-phase AC supply from 100 to 264 V and consume 1550 VA of power. These antenna-mount amplifiers are available in enclosures that measure 22.25 x 9.50 x 10.25 inches with a WR-34 waveguide output interface.
