The MPT™ 30WGX from Orbit Communication Systems is Ka-Band VSAT System for Airborne SATCOM applications. This modular, highly reliable multi-role aviation terminal, fully interoperable between the Wideband Global Satcom (WGS) system, military Ka frequency range, and Inmarsat’s Global Xpress (GX) constellation.
In Band 1, it has a Tx frequency from 29 to 30 GHz and an Rx frequency from 19.2 to 20.2 GHz while in Band 2 it has a Tx frequency from 30 to 31 GHz and an Rx frequency from 20.2 to 21.2 GHz. The system has a 30 cm (12”) antenna, fully integrated with modems, electronics, and software. The antenna has an electrically switchable circular polarization with an EIRP of 52 dBW and an axial ratio of less than 1 dB. It requires a DC supply of 28 V and consumes 175 W of power.
The MPT 30WGX provides outstanding RF tracking performance under the harshest environmental conditions and compatibility with GEO, MEO, HEO, and LEO satellites. Orbit offers a complete range of airborne building blocks, including airborne modems, BUCs, RF tracking functionality, installation kits, and audio management systems (AMS), that maximize flexibility and meet current and future mission requirements
The MPT 30WGX has a lightweight and compact form factor and features a rugged electro-mechanical design that complies with stringent environmental standards for shock and vibration. It is ideal for a wide range of communication opportunities for a variety of airframe types and is ideal for use in mission aircraft, business jets, vertical take-off and landing (VTOL), rotary-wing platforms, transport aircraft, UAVs, and other mobile platforms.
