The Ka500 from ThinKom is a Phased Array Antenna that operates in the Ka-band from 27.5 to 30 GHz (Tx band) and 17.7 to 20.2 GHz (Rx band). It supports GSO (Geostationary Satellites) and NGSO (Non-Geostationary Satellites) and delivers compact efficiency, network flexibility and reliability to any mobile application. The antenna has switchable polarization and supports data rates up to 200 Mbps. It has an integrated BUC and provides an EIRP of 49 dBW at broadside (45 dBW at 20° elevation). This antenna has a cold start time of 60 sec and a re-acquisition time of less than 3 sec. It has a continuous azimuth coverage of 360° and an elevation coverage from 10 to 90° (network dependent). The antenna has a beam agility of more than 300°/sec and a tracking accuracy of better than 0.2°.
The Ka500 requires a DC supply from 12 to 36 V and consumes less than 300 W of power. It is available in an enclosure that measures 33 x 33 x 5 inches and is suitable for both commercial and military applications.
