The FA-370/70 from ULTRA is a Flyaway Antenna that operates from 7.9 to 8.4 GHz (Tx) and 7.25 to 7.75 GHz (Rx). It is a circular, axially symmetric antenna with a center hub and eighteen petals. This antenna has a linear orthogonal polarization (optional circular left and right) and a diameter of 3.7 m. It provides has cross polarization of -35 dB (within the -1dB co-polar contour (linear)) and a port-to-port isolation of 40 dB. All major components of this antenna including the multi-segmented reflector plus integrated 3 axis mount and flight case system are molded from carbon fibre for easier transportation. It is manufactured using a high-precision process to ensure excellent surface accuracy on the dish and no deformation, even after being assembled hundreds of times.
The FA-370/70 is designed to be fast assembly without any tools. It has a four-piece segmented feed arm which allows operation at C, X, Ku, DBS & Ka-band frequencies and allows fast multi-band feed changes by clipping the relevant feed cartridge into position. It is Intelsat/Eutelsat compliant for commercial bands and WGS, SkyNet, XTAR, Inmarsat & MIL-STD-810G certified. In Tx mode, it delivers an output power of up to 1.5 kW, has a 3 dB beamwidth of less than 1° (at 5.85 GHz), and a VSWR of less than 1.3:1 and in Rx mode, it provides a gain of 47 dBi.
This flyaway antenna comes with Vernier adjustments with clear scales for all three axes including fine and course adjustment for elevation and has a full 0° to 90° elevation capability. It is ideal for rapid deployments of broadband communications applications such as MCPC digital video or multiple SCPC transmissions, secure government communications, emergency restoration, sporting events, and major news stories. It can operate on both AC (90 to 264 V) and DC (24 V) supply.
