The LMS-802CX from Vaunix is a USB Programmable RF Signal Generator that operates from 2 to 8 GHz. It is designed to allow easy programmability to generate fixed-frequency, unidirectional or bidirectional frequency sweep, pulse modulation, and chirp modulation signals with very fast switching speed. This signal generator delivers an output power of 10 dBm with a power resolution of 0.5 dB and has a frequency step size of more than 100 Hz. It has spurious levels of -55 dBc (in-band) and harmonics of -35 dBc.
The LMS 802CX supports fast internally or externally triggered chirp modulation with frequency sweep rates of up to 50 MHz/µs. It can be interfaced with a GUI and controlled using a USB interface. This signal generator is also supplied with Vaunix’s LabVIEW drivers, Windows API DLL files, Linux drivers, Python examples, and other software solutions for users who wish to develop their interface. It requires a DC supply of 5 V and consumes 650 mA of current. This signal generator is available in a module that measures 4.90 x 3.14 x 1.59 inches and has SMA (female) connectors for RF ports and BNC (female) connectors for trigger/reference ports.
The LMS 802CX is ideal for portable LO sources, engineering/production test labs, low-cost test equipment for radar receiver systems, and automated test equipment (ATE) applications.
