The TruNet™ AR-1500 from Collins Aerospace is an Airborne Software Defined Radio that operates in the VHF/UHF bands from 30 MHz to 1.8 GHz. It supports 5 kHz, 8.33 kHz, 12.5 kHz, 25 kHz, 1.2 MHz, 5 MHz, 10 MHz, 30 MHz, and software-definable channel bandwidths. This radio provides secure communication and is interoperable with Collins Aerospace and non-Collins Aerospace VHF/UHF radio systems for cost savings. It enables independent, SCA-compliant waveform development for customizability to customer- and country-specific requirements. The radio delivers mission-critical capability through multiple waveforms and high-speed mobile ad hoc networked communications for data, voice, and imagery.
The AR-1500 enables software/network management and is easily configurable to a variety of missions. It requires a DC supply of 28 V and consumes 200 W of power in Tx mode and 50 W in Rx mode. This SDR is available in an enclosure that measures 12.7 x 14.2 x 25.0 cm.
