The PRC2150 from Datron is a VHF Tactical Manpack Radio that operates from 30 to 88 MHz. It supports 100 programmable memory channels with channel spacing of 12.5 or 25 kHz. This radio has GPS capability embedded in the transceiver for accurate position and time-of-day capability. It provides an excellent dynamic range that allows co-located units to transmit and receive simultaneously on the same vehicle without diminished performance. The radio is available as either a manpack with output power from 500 mW to 10 W or a mobile/fixed station system with output power from 500 mW to 75 W. It achieves excellent distance coverage, due to its sensitive and high dynamic range receiver, finely-tuned internal antenna matching network, and variable output power settings.
The PRC2150 also has a BB-NM10 NiMH battery pack or can be used with a DC supply from 11 to 15 V. High power settings can be used when maximum range is desired, while lower power settings can be used to save battery life or when low probability of intercept is a mission requirement. This radio has a comprehensive BITE that allows users or maintenance personnel to completely monitor the performance of the radio. It has a large graphic display that is scratch and impact-resistant for reliable use in tactical situations. This VHF Tactical Manpack Radio meets MIL-STD-810 for reliable operation in harsh environments in any configuration. It is available in an immersible enclosure that measures 216 x 89 x 241 mm with Whip (AT271A/U) and tape (AT892M) antennas (integrated antenna matching).
