The Sidekiq Stretch from Epiq Solutions is a Software-Defined Radio (SDR) Transceiver Module that operates from 70 MHz to 6 GHz with channel bandwidth up to 50 MHz. It is based on Analog Devices AD9361 RFIC transceiver, has a GPS disciplined oscillator (GPSDO) and a tunable Rx pre-select filter. The SDR is available in a compact M.2 2280 Key M form-factor that allows the transceiver to be used in millions of host devices where a PCIe-based NVMe Solid-state Drive (SSD) is supported. The GPSDO offers excellent long-term positioning accuracy and tunable Rx pre-select filtering for optimum interference protection.
The Sidekiq Stretch can process 12-bit samples with a sampling rate from 233 Ksamples/s to 61.44 Msamples/s. It provides an Rx gain from 0 to 76 dB in 1 dB steps and a Tx gain from 0 to 89 dB in 0.5 dB steps. The SDR delivers a Tx output power of up to 13 dBm and has an Rx noise figure of less than 8 dB.
The Sidekiq Stretch is available in the standard M.2 2280 form factor that measures 22.0 x 80.0 x 4.5 mm and is ready for integration into a host computing device with a compatible M.2 2280 slot. It is also available in a Thunderbolt 3 carrier with a small enclosure (providing SMA ports for RF, and a Thunderbolt 3 compatible USB-C connector for both power and connectivity to the host). This device is ideal for SWaP-optimized radio applications.
