The FALCON III RF-7800H-MP from L3Harris Technologies is a Tactical Radio that operates from 1.5 to 59.999 MHz. It has been designed for Type-3 wideband HF manpacks that are available today and engineered to provide advanced security and performance. This system offers interoperability with fielded Falcon II HF radios, including the L3Harris RF-5800H manpacks. It has a software-defined architecture that supports in-field upgrades for future capabilities and also allows for immediate system upgrades while utilizing existing legacy L3Harris HF accessories and mounting solutions.
This SWaP-optimized tactical radio system generates high-speed narrowband and wideband waveforms such as fixed frequency, 2G ALE, 3G ALE, and VHF FM in various modes, including Last Ditch Voice and SMS messaging. It secures both voice and data messages with robust algorithms such as Citadel, CAM, and 128/256-bit AES encryption schemes, which can be key-filled via Windows-based programming applications.
On the Tx chain, it delivers an output power of 20 W (HF) and 10 W (VHF) and provides a sideband suppression of more than 60 dB while on the Rx chain, it has a sensitivity of -113 dBm and provides an image rejection of over 80 dB. This manpack requires a DC supply of 26 V. It can be controlled via RS-232 serial, USB, or Ethernet (with adapter) interfaces. This FALCON III RF-7800H-MP is available in an enclosure that measures 3.3 x 7.9 x 9.2 inches and is ideal for tactical military and defense applications.
