The ADRF5054 from Analog Devices is a Silicon SP4T Switch that operates from 1 to 60 GHz. It has an ON/OFF switching time of 25 ns, has an insertion loss of less than 3.2 dB, and provides 45 dB of isolation. This reflective switch can handle an RF input power of up to 25 dBm and provides an IP3 power of 47 dBm. It requires a dual DC supply of +3.3 V / -3.3 V and consumes less than 510 μA of current. The switch employs complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS)-/low-voltage transistor to transistor logic (LVTTL)-compatible controls.
The ADRF5054 can also operate with a single positive supply voltage applied while the negative supply voltage (VSS) is connected to the ground. In this operating condition, the small signal performance is maintained while the switching characteristics, linearity, and power handling performance are derated. It is available in a 24-terminal LGA package that measures 3 x 3 mm and is ideal for use in test and instrumentation, cellular infrastructure (5G millimeter wave), military radios, radars, electronic countermeasures (ECMs), microwave radios, very small aperture terminals (VSATs) and industrial scanner applications.
