The GRF6011 from Guerrila RF is a linear, ultra-low loss Solid State SPDT Failsafe switch that operates from 0.1 to 3.8 GHz. A key application of a solid state failsafe SPDT switch would be in low noise amplifiers (LNA) and in tower mounted amplifiers (TMA), where the failsafe functionality is typically implemented using expensive mechanical relays or cumbersome Schottky diode switches external to a traditional LNA device. In switching mode, the device has an insertion loss of under 0.45 dB and can handle up to 30 dBm of imput power (P1dB). When in failsafe mode the one port defaults to a high insertion loss state while the other defaults to a low insertion loss state that retains high linearity with an IP3 of over 49.5 dBm. The device is operated from a supply voltage of 3.0 volts to 5.0 volts with the single control input (VSEL) from 3.0 volts up to VDD. It is available in an ultra-small 1.5 x 1.5 mm DFN-6 package and is well suited for applications including cellular boosters, cellular infrastructure and L-Band satcom.
