The RTH7050EA from Rakon is a Hybrid Temperature-Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) that operates from 10 to 50 MHz. It provides a clipped sinewave or CMOS output with an SSB phase noise of -160 dBc/Hz (at 1 MHz offset) and has an acceleration sensitivity from 1 to 2.5 ppb/g. This oscillator uses the proprietary Mercury+™ ASIC with a high-Q crystal resonator and a built-in heating control system to achieve a frequency stability of 10 ppb (peak-to-peak). It has a warm-up time of 20 seconds and a rise/fall time of 1 ns. This TCXO requires a DC supply from 2.7 to 5 V and consumes 1200 mW of power during warm-up and less than 500 mW of power in steady-state mode.
The RTH7050EA is available in a compact package that measures 7.5 x 5.5 x 3.3 mm and is an ideal choice for Telecom Boundary Clocks (T-BC) Class C and Class D, which require low dynamic noise contribution from oscillators over the operating temperature range. This TCXO is suitable for use in Stratum 3E, PTP-enabled ethernet switches and routers, cable modem CMTS & remote PHYs, G.8262, G.8262.1, G.8263, G.8273.2, G.8273.3 and G.8273.4 applications. It has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +95°C.
