The SiT5358 from SiTime is a MEMS Precision Temperature Controlled Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) that operates from 1 to 60 MHz. It has a frequency stability of ±0.05 ppm and the oscillation frequency can be controlled in 1 Hz steps. The TCXO operates over a temperature range from 0° to 70° C with ±0.05 ppm stability across the temperature range. It requires a supply voltage of 2.5 V/2.8 V/3.0 V/3.3 V and has an LVCMOS or clipped sinewave output. The TCXO is fully compliant to the GR-1244 Stratum 3 oscillator specifications.
The SiT5358 delivers high-stability timing in the presence of environmental stressors – airflow, temperature perturbation, vibration, shock, and electromagnetic interference (EMI). It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 5.0 x 3.2 mm and is RoHS & REACH compliant. The oscillator is ideal for 4G/5G radio, small cell, synchronous Ethernet, IEEE 1588, precision GNSS, test and measurement, carrier-grade routers and switches, optical transport – SONET/SDH, OTN, Stratum 3, DOCSIS 3.x remote PHY, and GPS disciplined oscillators applications. It also integrates multiple on-chip regulators, providing power supply noise filtering and eliminating the need for a dedicated external LDO.
