The DTMA1721AVG14A from Communication Components Inc. is a Tower Mounted Amplifier that operates in the AWS and AWS-3 bands of 1710-1780 MHz and 2110-2180 MHz. It provides an adjustable gain from 8 to 14 dB in 0.25 dB steps, has a noise figure of 1.3 dB and an insertion loss of 1.1 dB. The amplifier consists of six band-pass filters, four redundant low-noise amplifiers, bypass failure circuitry, and bias tees. It is dual duplexed to separate the low-power uplink signal from the high-power downlink signal at the antenna port, amplifying the low-level uplink signal using an ultra-low noise amplifier (LNA), and recombining the two paths at the BTS port.
