The VTX-6379E1 from Communications & Power Industries (CPI) is a Dual-Band Helix Traveling Wave Tube that operates from 5.85 to 6.425 GHz and 7.9 to 8.4 GHz. It delivers an output power of up to 2 kW and has a VSWR of 1.7:1. This TWT requires a DC helix voltage from 13.9 to 15.4 kV and has a helix current of less than 22 mA. It also requires a DC heater supply from 6 to 6.6 V and has a heater surge current of less than 5 A. The TWT requires prime power of 6750 W and has multiple stage collectors to reduce prime power and increase efficiency. It is available in an enclosure with coaxial input and waveguide output interface and is suitable for use in satellite uplinks, communications, instrumentation, and DBS (direct broadcast system).
