The ADMV8818 from Analog Devices is a Digitally Tunable MMIC Multioctave Filter that operates from 2 to 18 GHz. The filter consists of four independently controlled high-pass filters (HPFs) and low-pass filters (LPFs). The digital logic control on each filter is 4 bits wide (16 states) and can drive the on-chip reactive elements to adjust the 3 dB cut off frequency for up to 4 GHz of bandwidth. This tunable filter can be used as a smaller alternative to large, switched filter banks and cavity tuned filters. It is suitable for minimizing system harmonics. It has an insertion loss of less than 14.6 dB and a wideband rejection of 35 dB. The filter is available in a 56-terminal LGA package that measures 9 x 9 mm and is ideal for test and measurement equipment, military radar, electronic warfare, electronic countermeasures, satellite communications, space, industrial, and medical equipment applications.
