The Model 5900 from Netcom is a Digitally Controlled Tunable Filter with a passband from 225 to 450 MHz. The filter design is based on cavity resonators and includes an integrated digital control interface. With its unique design, it can handle up to 10 W of power and has an insertion loss of less than 4 dB in a small package. The filter has been designed specifically for higher-order modulation systems and data applications having a constant 14 MHz filter bandwidth over the entire frequency range. It has a tuning speed of 50 µS, a VSWR of 1.7:1, and operates over a temperature range of -40 to +85°C. This filter is available in a module with MCX connectors and an 8 bit parallel or serial TTL and CMOS compatible control interface. The filter can be customized on request to have different bandwidth, insertion loss, and frequency range.
