The VectorStar ME7838x4 Series from Anritsu are 4-Port Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) that operate from 70 kHz to 220 GHz. These VNAs offer a new level of performance for device modeling engineers struggling to accurately and reliably characterize their devices and for R&D engineers pushing the last traction of a dB out of their state-of-the-art designs.
These VNAs utilize compact mmWave modules with a stability of 0.1 dB over 24 hours. They offer positive raw directivity to provide better calibration and measurement stability with a significantly longer time between calibration for accurate measurements and improved productivity. These analyzers combine Anritsu’s non-linear transmission line technology (NLTL) in a small, compact, mmWave module for measurements up to 220 GHz.
The ME7838x4 Series supports dual SPA modes for mixer, amplifier, harmonics, and spurious level testing, and users can choose which port to use as SPA port. They provide several detection mode types, such as peak, minimum, RMS, and mean with various math functions, that can be applied to the SPA mode. The sources and receivers of these VNAs can be independently configured and for units that have a dual source, a dual drive option is available. They offer universal fixture extraction (UFX) software options for test fixture extraction and IMDView software with an internal combiner to switch from S-parameters to IMD measurements in a single connection.
These vector network analyzers also allow for measuring noise figure measurements from 70 kHz to 125 GHz and accurate optoelectronic measurements at 850/1060/1310/1550 nm wavelengths. They have a dynamic range of up to 142 dB and provide an output power of less than +14 dBm. These VNAs offer a pulse resolution of 2.5 ns for high-performance pulse measurements. They are available in rackmount enclosures and are ideal for test and measurement applications.
