The M5045 from Copper Mountain Technologies is a 2-port metrology-grade Vector Network Analyzer that operates from 300 kHz to 4.5 GHz. It delivers metrology-grade performance in a more economical package and as a result excludes several advanced features: vector mixer calibration, TRL calibration, frequency offset, time domain, and gating. This VNA includes an RF measurement module and the S2 software which can operate on Windows or Linux PCs, laptops, tablets, or x86 board computers connecting to the measurement hardware via a USB interface. The S2 software can be installed on multiple computers, making it easy to share the use of the analyzer.
The device has a dynamic range of 130 dB (10 Hz IF BW) and is used to measure all four S parameters (S11, S21, S12, and S22). It has sweep types of linear frequency, log frequency, segment, and power sweep. The output power of this VNA can be adjusted from -55 dBm to 5 dBm and has a measurement speed of 70 µs.
This VNA is available in a module with BNC (F) connectors and is ideal for applications including: RF component design and testing, on-wafer probing, field testing, insertion loss measurement, antenna matching, quality control, material measurements, and many others. The add-on option for ISO17025/Z540-1 Accredited, Traceable Calibration Certificate, and Uncertainties is available and needs to be specified at the time of order.
