The R&S®ZND from Rohde & Schwarz is a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) designed for unidirectional measurements from 100 kHz to 4.5 GHz and bidirectional measurements up to 8.5 GHz (optional). This VNA can measure all four S-parameters (S11, S12, S21, S22) and other network parameters such as magnitude and phase of the S-parameters. It can be used for analysis of components such as cables and filters in the frequency and time domain. This VNA has a gating function that can be used to remove the effects of unwanted discontinuities and multiple reflections.
The R&S®ZND has a dynamic range of up to 120 dB and a power sweep range of up to 48 dB. This VNA has a bandwidth from 1 Hz to 300 kHz and more than 100 traces & channels. It has a sweep speed of less than 4 ms and a directivity of more than 30 dB. The VNA offers various digital interfaces that can be used to speed up automatic test cycles and synchronize external components in a test setup or the settings of a DUT to the analyzer’s internal test sequences in real time. This VNA can be controlled manually using the 12.1-inch touchscreen display or remotely via LAN or GPIB interfaces.
The R&S®ZND can have several configurations by being paired with various hardware options so that it can be tailored according to the user’s specific needs in RF component production and development. All these configurations feature normalization for reflection and transmission measurements as well as one-path two-port calibration, fixture compensation and full one-port calibration. The R&S®ZND is available as a benchtop system that measures 462.5 x 239.6 x 361.5 mm and has BNC female connectors.
