The Series 330 from Flann Microwave are 2-Channel Waveguide Switches that operate up to 112 GHz. These electro-mechanical switches have been developed to meet the rapidly increasing data capacity requirements of space communication links. They have an H-plane orientation, low insertion loss, and high-power handling capacity with excellent PIM performance. The switches are designed for aerospace and space-flight applications with low outgassing and can withstand harsh environmental conditions including mechanical shock and vibration, thermal shock, and fatigue.
The microwave signal path in the switches have two aluminium solid parts (stator and rotor) isolated by an air gap with no joins or contacting surfaces which results in a very robust, reliable, and stable device. They implement bi-stable latching with non-contacting detent and position tells back with non-contacting sensor. These switches are available in two waveguide sizes of WR34 and WR8 with customization options for rotary bearing types, drive styles, and drive voltages to suit customer preferences.
