The P9235A-RB from Renesas is a Wireless Power Transmitter for 5W applications. The magnetic induction-based transmitter is WPC-compatible and includes an integrated step-down switching regulator, integrated drivers for external power FETs, and an integrated current sense amplifier. This chipset requires an input voltage from 4.2 to 21 V and supports simultaneous voltage and current demodulation schemes for robust communication. The P9235A-RB includes a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0 processor offering a high level of programmability while consuming extremely low standby power. The transmitter features two open-drain LED outputs with pre-defined blinking patterns and five general-purpose input/output (GPIO) pins. This charging transmitter includes an under-voltage lockout, Foreign object detection (FOD)and thermal management circuit to safeguard the device under fault conditions
The P9235A-RB offers a pre-programmed bootloader that must be used in conjunction with an external flash memory that contains control firmware. This architecture gives user flexibility to change the firmware in the external flash to meet application-specific requirements. It is available in aPb-free, space-saving 5 × 5 mm 40-VFQFPN package and supports 12C interface. This SoC is rated over an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Together with the P9225 receiver (RX), it forms a complete 5W wireless power system solution for applications such as smartwatches, headsets, health & fitness monitors, and portable medical devices.
