Radar Target Simulator (RTS)
A Radar Target Simulator (RTS) is a testing tool for radar systems/radar products which simulates a real target and target parameters to validate real-time performance. The RTS provides a method to test radar systems indoors by simulating a real target/echo and can be used to determine parameters such as accuracy of detecting distance and speed. Radar target simulators can be categorised as single-target and multi-target (simulates multiple targets) and can use with CW and pulsed radar signals.
RTS systems are ideal for testing and validating several features of modern RADARs, such as radar-based advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), radar sensors used in autonomously driving cars (AD), surveillance/tracking RADARs, testing RADAR modules while manufacturing, LPI RADAR signal processing algorithm development and testing, performance analysis of Bi-static RADARs, ECM Simulators, EPN, ECM, ECM training, ELINT analysis, and used in R& D of radar system/module and Radar training & teaching.
Key Parameters of Radar Target Simulators:
- Operational Frequency: Represents the operating frequency range of the radar target simulator.
- Number of Targets Supported: It is the maximum number of targets that can be simulated by the radar target simulator.
