Enabling Bi-directional Wireless Communication between IBM Cloud and Bluetooth Low Energy peripherals through SimpleLink Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is the preferred technology to connect any product to the internet, even products that use BLE. BLE enabled products are usually controlled locally by wireless mobile devices. However, there are many instances where it is desirable to access or control the BLE peripherals even when the user is not within range to connect via BLE. Adding Wi-Fi connectivity, as a gateway, enables new use cases, including remote monitoring and control.

This system design demonstrates how the CC3220 and CC2640 SimpleLink MCU Developer ecosystem can be used to quickly create a simple Wi-Fi Gateway for BLE peripherals.
