John Coonrod explains the impact that plated finishes have on PCB high-frequency performance at millimeter-wave frequencies. There are many different plated finishes used in the PCB industry and each has its own set of capabilities.  The different plated finishes are used for many different reasons, however, there has been limited information in the industry for how these finishes can impact circuit performance at millimeter-wave frequencies.   This video shows an overview of multiple studies, where many different final plated finishes were evaluated for RF performance at millimeter-wave frequencies.
