THz Communication

6G aims to support peak data rates up to 1 Tbps. This means that it needs bandwidths that are much wider than what is being used today for 4G LTE or 5G. THz communication (100+ GHz) is being researched to meet this requirement.

Measurements for wireless communication systems is very complex, especially for frequencies above 100 GHz. These higher frequencies represent a new territory for communication and require new measurement equipment. Rohde & Schwarz is collaborating with customers to develop solutions for THz communication - following technology trends and translating these visions to test and measurement equipment.
