Webinar Overview
Overview:
As high speed serial data rates advance, we face a fundamental shift. Conventional NRZ signaling is being replaced by PAM4, a modulation scheme that takes half the bandwidth to transmit the same payload as the equivalent NRZ signal. PAM4 requires more accurate measurements as it introduces potential issues that are not present in NRZ.
General operating principles and theory for PAM4 along with inter-symbol interference, cross talk, Channel Operating Margin (COM) and identifying how to make accurate measurements will be discussed.
Who Should Attend:
Students, engineers and managers that want to learn more about using frequency based test and measurement equipment for conventional time domain tests. This presentation is will also benefit SI engineers with and without Vector Network Analyzer experience that troubleshoot SI issues and/or build circuit models and validate them through test measurements.
What You Will Learn:
This presentation will help you understand how to use S-parameters, how to think of channel response and crosstalk in terms of S-parameters, and where to look for problems that might be caused by inaccurate measurements of S-parameters.
Presenter Bio:
Charles Tumbaga has a BSEE from San Jose State University. He has worked 2 years in the electronic calibration/test industry before coming to Anritsu for the past 2 years as a product marketing engineer in the Vector Network Analyzer group.
