Webinar Overview
Modern technological advances have seen massive growth in the development of small satellites (‘CubeSats’) for both government and commercial applications. The ‘CubeSat’ challenge revolves around designing miniaturized and lightweight yet complex and reliable systems and getting these to orbit as quickly as possible. Antennas used for communication and space-borne sensors are important components of all satellites. For small satellites, size and weight of these antennas is a critical factor, impacting not only on RF performance, but also on factors such as structural considerations, aerodynamic and thermal performance. In this webinar we will review modern trends of antennas on small satellites. We will also discuss a basic design scenario and how software tools such as Antenna Magus and CST STUDIO SUITE can be used to address the challenges it presents.
