Webinar Overview
Frank H. Scharf obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Ruhr-Universitaet Bochum, Germany. During his graduate studies, he focused on modeling and simulating the plasma sheath in high intensity discharge lamps. Frank joined CST AG in 2008 and transferred to CST of America in 2009. He currently works as a Senior Application Engineer and coordinator for optical applications
Graphene is a material with extraordinary properties. It promises to open up new application areas or to enhance existing devices, as indicated by the large amount of research on this topic. Currently, commercial applications are still small in number but increasing. EM simulations are a formidable tool to aid in the research and design of new devices that employ graphene. This webinar will show a number of applications, ranging from RF to optical frequencies. The main focus will be on absorption, nano antennas, and plasmonic behavior.
