Webinar Overview

This webinar will provide a brief overview of the Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC and its application to a remote PHY node in Cable Access. We’ll first provide a technology overview of the world’s only hardware programmable System-on-Chip with integrated analog data converters, along with key performance metrics. We’ll then discuss its application to Remote PHY nodes leveraging key IP blocks available by Xilinx partner Calian SED.

Presenter Bios:

David Brubaker is the Product Line Manager for the Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC where he is responsible for managing the early phase of Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC products including NPI and customer engagements.

David has held leadership, technical and marketing roles in several large companies focusing on 3G, 4G and 5G wireless infrastructure including FPGA, ASIC and ASSP solutions. Earlier in his career he held RF and wireless engineering leadership positions in several companies.

David is a member of the IEEE and holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University and Bachelor’s degree in Physics from San Diego State University.

Dan Coode is a Director of Cable Network Products at SED Systems, a division of Calian Group Ltd, where he is responsible for developing and delivering SED's innovative lineup of HFC Cable network technology and products. He has been a contributing engineer to the CableLabs DOCSIS 3.1 specification and is responsible for SED's DOCSIS Remote PHY strategy. He is a Senior IEEE member and holds Bachelor degrees in both Computer Sciences and Electrical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
