The RTCA DO-160 is the primary commercial aviation standard for environmental conditions and test procedures for airborne equipment. Its last major revision was in 2010 with DO-160G and Rev H is in committee right now with a target published date of 2024. Quell has put together this round table to discuss exactly what changes are on the horizon with the new revision H. Our panel includes MIL-AERO EMC Compliance Experts and RTCA Committee Members that have been involved in making the revisions themselves. In this paper we will be discussing not only what the key changes will be, but also digging into other insights, like the impact of 5G and increased passenger device use, changes to test equipment and methodologies, as well as how those changes might affect current test labs and manufacturers.
